This crankshaft is designed for a supercharged two-stroke compression-ignition opposed-piston aircraft engine. Crankshaft construction, therefore, largely reflects the requirements of high stiffness and low weight simultaneously. Semi-finished crankshaft is smith forging of material 32CrMo4. The final design is whole machined and there is used chemical-heat treatment of the exposed areas.
