This balancing unit is designed for an internal-combustion spark-ignition engine with special firing intervals. It uses part of counterweights on all crankshaft throws and weights at the end of the balance shaft and its drive gear wheel. Balancing unit is based on the principle of contra-rotating force vectors and moment of a couple vectors. It reduces vibrations to the powertrain frame, and thus also decreases the acoustic emission.
