Zařízení umožňuje měřit tloušťku mazacích filmů v kontaktu různých valivých elementů rozličných velikostí a skleněného (safírového) kotouče za podmínek čistého valení. Valivé elementy mohou být kuželík, soudeček, kulička s velikostí od cca 3 do 20 mm. Pro uložení valivých elementů byl zvolen koncept uložení na čtyřech ložiskách uspořádaných do čtverce s variabilním nastavením vzdálenosti mezi ložisky v jednom směru. Lze nastavit sklon a svislou pozici modulu s unášejícími ložisky.

The assembly allows to measure lubrication film thickness in contact of several different rollers with wide spectrum of sizes and glass (sapphire) disk under conditions of pure rolling. The rollers can be tapper, spherical or ball in dimensions from approximately 3 to 20 mm. Four supporting ball bearings in a square lay-out with variable length between the bearings and one fixed contact tip (for tapper roller) was chosen to realize rotary placing on the fixed position. The module with supporting bearings can be tilted and vertically shifted.
