Abstract

MapEditor.Outdoor serves as tool for design of outdoor maps usable in robotics and other related areas. Program can read and load map data from custom XML format. Program is heavily bound to KML file format. as well, which is currently supported by wide range of GPS data logger software and applications such as Google Earth. The main design philosophy is to walk through target areas with GPS and KML logger, and then use Outdoor Map Editor for importing the data and arranging them manually for better precision. It is possible to store the data in XML format, which can be later processed easily by robot AI programmers. The software uses MS .NET framework.
