Algorithms for text detection in complex scenes

Software

Vytvořený program detekuje v obrazech oblasti představující shluky znaků. K lokalizaci textu jsou použity klasické techniky zpracování obrazu jako např. filtrace, Houghova transformace, shluková analýza atd. i vlastní postupy. Program dobře funguje pro detekci textu i ve složitých scénách a je tak využitelný např. v aplikacích typu detekce textu na snímcích či kopiích stránek knih či časopisů, detekce oblasti adresy na poštovních obálkách aj.

Designed program detects areas containing text in images. Classic technics of image processing (e.g. filtration, Hough transform, cluster analysis) as well as own proceedings are used for localization of text. Program performs well for text detection in complex scenes so that it is usable in applications like text detection in images or copies of books or journals, address detection on envelopes and others.
