Original Abstract
A study has been conducted for the determination of eight elements (Be, V, Co, Ni, Y, Cd, Pb and Th) by inductively coupled plasma mass spectromentry (ICP-MS) in naturals waters and waters after mining and processing of uranium. An ICP-MS spectrometer Agilent 7500ce, with a plasma generator of 27.12 MHz, power output 1500 W and concentric nebulizer MicroMist with a cooled Scott chamber was used. The matrix effects was eliminated by using a solution of internal standards 6Li was used for 9Be, 45Sc (51V), 72Ge (59Co, 60Ni, 89Y), 103Rh (111Cd), 209Bi (206Pb, 207Pb, 208Pb, 232Th). Monitored interfering elements were K+, Na+, NH4+, Fe2+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Al3+, NO3-, NO2-, SO42-, Cl-, HCO3-. The non-polar sorbents based on Silica (C18, C8 and Phenyl) were conditioned with the Benzyldimethyltetradecylammonium chloride (Zephyramine) or 1-etoxycarbonyl-pentadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (Septonex). The sorption process for the preconcentration of target elements was realized in the presence of 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol, Ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate, 8-Hydroxyquinoline-5-sulphonic acid and Alizarine S at pH 5-9. The elution mixture was acetone and ethanol (1:1) in presence of 1 mol?l-1 HCl. The excess of acid and organic solvents were evaporated in Teflon dish prior to the determination by ICP-MS.
