Original Abstract

We have implemented the eardrum perforation in our comprehensive three-dimensional computational model of the human ear. We are continuing to test the also other ear pathology and plan to complete more numerical experiments in order to compare our simulation results with the available experimental data and audiological findings. We believe our results demonstrate the promise of large scale computational modelling approach to the study of ear mechanics and to the improvement of otosurgery effectiveness.
