Original Abstract

This paper presents airfoil optimization of aeroplane's wing by genetic algorithm. A direct method of computing aerodynamic characteristics is provided by 2 dimensional computer code XFOIL, which is well known in aerospace industry and solves flow around isolated airfoil. A suitable low order parametrization of the airfoil geometry was designed. A computer program for optimization, which involves certain input and output parameters, was assembled and tested. Results are set of airfoils according to different Fitness functions.
