Original Abstract

This paper deals with questions related to efficiency of cleaning off-gases from acid polluting compounds using wet scrubbing technology in devices with various design. On the basis of measurements performed at incinerators of municipal and industrial wastes and experimental work with model equipment in the laboratory of VUT, possibilities for increasing efficiency of units for absorption cleaning of off-gases were evaluated. After comparison of the results of measurements with the Venturi scrubber and a newly developed apparatus called "O-element", a number of properties has been identified that can be usefully utilised in design and operation of units for absorption cleaning of off-gases.
