Original Abstract

Polyurethanes (PU) are the world's sixth most abundant synthetic polymer; they show a wide range of properties and therefore they could be found in many products ranging from automobiles to furniture and upholstery. The degradability of polyurethanes could be improved by the addition of the biodegradable filler - most often biooriginated and biodegradable polyol, which partly substitutes the synthetic polyol during PU synthesis. The amount of degradation products of such modified polymers increases substantially; therefore we focus our attention on their identification.
