Original Abstract

The method of partial characteristics gives results in very good agreement with exact calculations using a model of spectral absorptivities as a function of temperature and radiation frequence. Calculations have been made for SF6 plasmas of the functions Som and deltaSim required in the method of partial characteristics for the approximate prediction of radiation transfer effects.
