Original Abstract
Ever increasing demands on environmentally sound operation of sewer systems require considerations of the total mass balances in the sewer network - wastewater treatment plant system as well as in the wastewater treatment plant - receiving system. The study reported in this paper analyses the potential of integrated control of the urban wastewater system in its entirety. This study demonstrates to develop the theory of techniques and strategies needed in control of sewer systems, minimizing adverse impact of sewage overflows and wastewater treatment plants on the receiving waters.
