Original Abstract

A computer based 3D model of stable intergranular crack is developed. It simulates experimental and practical conditions occuring in fatigue, brittle fracture and stress corrosion cracking cases. Creation of the intergranular crack is constructed according to some geometrically justified rules. This procedure reflects well the real damage process and allows us to quantify the geometrically induced crack tip shielding due to the branched crack fro
