Original Abstract

Application problems of induction machine as a starter-generator for vehicles with combustion engines are introduced. An important problem is the selection of machine size according to the required torque in start mode, strictly limited by allowed overheating of the machine. No less important is the problem of optimal battery energy utilization, so the system starter-generator + inverter has to be set into the most efficient mode.
