Original Abstract

The paper deals with a mathematical tool for the analysis of the so called unipolar PWM signals. The tool allows calculation of the power conducting and switching losses in the 3-phase transistor inverter working in the sinusoidal PWN regime. The method also allows a very simple calculation of the whole RMS value of the output-line unipolar voltage of the inverter. The mathematical tool is established on the definition of the terms the "instantaneous" frequency and "instantaneous" mark-space ratio (duty cycle) of the unipolar PWM signals.
