Original Abstract

Over the last decade, an increasing trend in professional qualification of the Czech population has been continuing. Especially, the technical universities are expected to react promptly on the situation in the real world. This paper is concerned with the partial results of project No. 2E08033, cooperation of Universities and Industrial Enterprises in Educating Technical talents, focussed on the preparation of a system of long-term cooperation between technical universities and the industrial sphere. The first study of this paper describes some of the main results of the empirical research among university students, which try to answer the questions regarding study motivation, future job's expectations, and academic career attitudes of BUT students. The second study focuses on modelling and implementing of web portal - the most effective communicative medium among students, university, and business sphere. Finally, the future directions and practical applications are discussed.
