Original Abstract

Description of a mathematical model of biomass drying and devolatilization in 1D experimental fixed bed reactor is provided. Topics related to numerical solution are discussed and the discretised model is implemented into a computer program with a graphical user interface written in the MATLAB programming language. Results from a simulation of drying and devolatilization of wheat straw are shown.
