Original Abstract

The article concerns the problems of the boundary effect in the wavelet transform of finite signals. It is shown that finite signals have to be treated differently from the infinite ones, and several methods how to handle the signal boundaries are given. These methods are then compared and it is shown that each of them has a disadvantage. Computer simulation of the methods is presented as well.
