Original Abstract

This paper aims at presenting and analyzing the Libyan human developments model, and in order to achieve this goal, the paper is going to determine the nature of human development in Libya and its model which is derived from the philosophy and trends of the successive developmental plans of the past two decades. In order to explain this model and all that has been achieved, this paper is going to define Libyas various human developmental achievements, then tackles in elaboration four principal sectors that are characterized by all human developmental theories as being the mobilizers of development. These are education, health, quality of life and womens participation in Libyas social and economic life. At the end, the paper will attempt to characterize the future of human development in Libya as reflected in the national developmental plans (2001 to 2006) which are underway now.
