Original Abstract

This contribution deals with the evolution of microstructure of the magnesium alloy AZ 91 HP due to different heat treatment done in the foundry at the producer's site. There were two variants of the heat treatment (annealing) intended to dissolve the massive Mg17Al12 precipitates and to avoid their repetitive formation. The dissolution of the Mg17Al12 precipitates was observed in both cases and the resultant microstructures were similar.
