Original Abstract

Modern automotive engineering education requires hands-on experience with advanced measurement systems to bridge theoretical concepts and real-world applications. This paper presents the integration of the Dewesoft SIRIUS data acquisition (DAQ) system in combustion engine laboratories at the Brno University of Technology. Dewesoft SIRIUS offers robust real-time analysis, high-speed data capture, and intuitive visualization. Through the example of a VW 1.5 TSI engine testbed equipped with an open ECU and full DAQ integration, we demonstrate how the system enhances students' understanding of engine calibration, control strategies, and emission formation. Positive feedback and consistently high educational outcomes underline the value of Dewesoft solutions for modern engineering curricula.
