Original Abstract

The spatial information is needed for stereoscopic displaying equipment which is able to display 3D scene on the base of at least two views captured from different perspectives. The most mentioned concept of spatial information format for this application is the DEPTH matrix added to reference RGB 2D picture. Other method in a possibility of two pictures (carrying the spatial information) compression is mentioned. The later of these concepts takes advantage of the standardized image and video compression methods. The stereoscopic images are arranged spatially or temporally to exploit cross image correlation.
