Original Abstract
One of the most critical places in buildings in terms of building thermal technology involves the windows where temperature often drops below the critical temperature leading to mould growth or surface condensation. Many factors play a major role here, affecting the functionality of the entire system. These factors include the nominal indoor and outdoor temperatures, outdoor and indoor relative humidity, the thermal properties of the window frames and glazing, and the type of window spacer. The following work deals with the study of temperature variations at critical locations within window glazing and the connection joint of the frame. We aim to improve the initial unsatisfactory conditions using a patented technology involving conductive material, specifically aluminium bar. Due to its high conductivity, the bar transfers heat to the subcooled area on the surface while removing it from the internal environment. Variations of the bar design (shape, length, thickness) on the wooden window frame at the window sill and jamb were simulated using computer modelling in Ansys Workbench.
