Abstract

The Baseplate demonstrator is part of a heat switch for thermal management in space application and being developed for the European Space Agency ESA. Bio-inspired design of highly optimized structure was manufactured by additive technology Selective Laser Melting from aluminium alloy powder. The design implements constraints of both the additive technology, material and future application. Functional sample is used for further testing.
