The paper addresses the issue of the environmental costs with respect to the methods of calculation and design bases. The paper is also concerned with important environmental costs relating to the wastes and consumed power. Further on, the paper considers the strategic environmental cost management focused on the product life cycle. It has followed absolutely clearly from the preceding research projects that the companies begin to acknowledge importance of the environmental costs. It is therefore necessary for them to work with this term both from the theoretical and the practical points of view. They must try to apply this knowledge in their own accounting systems.
