Original Abstract
Automation of measurement and analysis processes is widely used practice. There are several approaches to automate measurement or analysis. First approach is the use of measurement hardware, corresponding drivers and a control station running a control or analysis application. This application can be created using textbased programming languages such as C, C# etc. or visual based, such as LabVIEW environment, developed by National Instruments. Many different applications have common parts that must always be created. This part of programming is often laborious and tedious. The solution is to build an application from a common base, which is called a template. Some measurement or analysis problems are already solved, and corresponding template already exists, so it is desirable to, create an application with them in mind. When programming textbased languages, code generators can be used for this purpose. Recently, the use of machine learning models and chatbots such as ChatGPT has also been widely considered. The use of ChatGPT has been quite successful in this area. This paper aims to investigate whether ChatGPT can serve as a useful tool in creating a program in a visual based programming environment. A secondary idea was to evaluate the use of ChatGPT by a person who has limited experience with LabVIEW.
