Original Abstract

This paper deals with new computational tool for efficient energy utilization in process industry, which is based on unit operation completed by simple thermodynamic models of heat engines. Since a further improvement considering a wider flexibility is supposed the software system was created using object oriented programming. It allows a relatively simple adding both new units and involving potential changes in computational algorithm (e.g. recycle streams, investigation of parametric sensitivity and partial changes). An application of the computational tool is demonstrated through a case study.
