Original Abstract
The aim of the article is to describe the changes in the approach to the design and use of production management systems that occurred during the digital transformation - the advent of Industry 4.0. From the original, purely centralized solutions in the form of monolithic applications with proprietary communication protocols, it is gradually moving to a distributed form, open interfaces and modular platforms. This transformation brings a number of benefits, but also certain problems that this article seeks to characterize. Copyright (C) 2022 The Authors.
