Original Abstract

This work gives an introduction to the analysis of optical beam transmission through a turbulent atmosphere using matrix optics. A model of a cascade of turbulent cells is shown and a modified method of equivalent temperature gradient is introduced for the final calculation of the turbulence intensity.
