Functional sample of smart diagnostic sensor

Type

Functioning sample

Abstract

The functional sample of the smart diagnostic sensor is a low-power device containing sensing elements of three mechanical phenomena – mechanical vibration, surface acoustic wave and sound. It evaluates the acquired data and uses a suitable data fusion algorithm to achieve higher reliability and early detection of the mechanical faults. The device contains a low-power STM32 microprocessor with L4 core, two MEMS mechanical vibration sensing elements, one MEMS microphone for sound sensing, a piezoelectric element for surface acoustic wave sensing and other electronic circuits necessary for reliable operation of the device. The functional sample is compact in size and suitable for direct mounting on a diagnosed rotating machine, connectable using a four-wire cable.
