Abstract
Loki is a mobile robotic platform specially designed for scientific, research and testing purposes in the indoor environment. Its core advantage rests in universality and scalability in terms of mechanical and computational component, or sensors. Still, the platform is very compact; the footprint is comparable to human. The robot offers four powering branches for the user equipment; internal LAN network for inter-device communication with possibility to connection to external local network; an accumulator ensuring approximately eight-hours operation; precise actuators with high-resolution encoders to provide odometry; a compute unit taking care of a basic diagnostics; and a universal mounting board at the top of the platform. Thanks to these properties, the robot may be effectively deployed during research and development in industrial facilities and warehouses, for example.
