This work was focused on preparation and characterization of different type of algae and cyanobacteria extracts. Amount of total polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidant activity were analysed by spectrophotometry and phenolic compounds have been identified by HPLC/PDA. Extracts were also encapsulated into liposomes. Beside that encapsulation efficiency, size and stability of prepared particles and amount of released component in model conditions were monitored. Next, cytotoxicity of extracts and liposomes was assessed by MTT assay on human cell and no cytotoxicity effect was observed.
