Současná potřeba ozeleňování zelených střech a teras klade velký důraz na výzkum a vývoj možných konstrukčních vylepšení jednotlivých konstrukcí. Tyto konstrukce je třeba v rámci vývoje otestovat pokud možno ve stejných podmínkách, aby bylo možno určit správnou cestu vývoje. Proto v rámci vývoje jednotlivých prvků zelených střech a plochých střech je nutnost vytvořit testovací segment, na kterém je možné testovat všechny potřebné parametry pro zelené ploché střechy i pro jakýkoli jiný typ plochých střech. Důležitou inovací v rámci testovacího segmentu je možnost změny půdorysných rozměrů testované ploché střechy a možnost změny sklonu testované střechy. Díky těmto inovacím můžeme tedy podrobněji určit vhodnost jednotlivých typů konstrukcí pro různé sklony střech.

The current need for greening of green roofs and terraces places great emphasis on research and development of possible structural improvements of individual structures. These structures should be tested during development, if possible under the same conditions, in order to determine the correct path of development. Therefore, within the development of individual elements of green roofs and flat roofs, it is necessary to create a test segment on which it is possible to test all the necessary parameters for green flat roofs and for any other type of flat roofs. An important innovation within the test segment is the possibility of changing the floor plan dimensions of the tested flat roof and the possibility of changing the slope of the tested roof. Thanks to these innovations, we can therefore determine in more detail the suitability of individual types of structures for different roof pitches.
