Abstract

A communication interface converter extends the functionality of National Instrument's universal digital I/O module NI9401 of the CompactRIO platform. The converter transforms a two-wire differential communication bus RS-485 to digital TTL 5V lines available on NI9401. It allows simultaneous communication of up to four devices via separated buses, with the two channels allows full duplex communication and the remaining two channels intended only for half-duplex operation in the mode of receiving data generated by the connected device.
