Original Abstract

The switching field is the executive part of switching system, which realizes the interconnection of incoming and outgoing calls. These are formed by channels or circuits, which in the case of digital switching fields are separated in time. The design of this field is an optimization process since the same properties of switching field can be often obtained by several solutions. A new symbol for the designation of digital switches is introduced in the paper.
