The main topic of this paper is the tribotechnical system description and abrasive wear of selected functional surfaces. Essential information on structure, real contact geometry, tribological loads, operating and loss variables for the tribotechnical system are provided. Wear by abrasion is a form of wear caused by contact between a particle and a solid material.
