Original Abstract

The document deals with a summary of the existing use of municipal waste as an energy and material source. The Czech Republic is characterized by relatively high production of municipal and industrial waste, when a substantial part of the waste is still landfilled. According to the forthcoming Act on Waste, landfilling of waste with a calorific value higher than 4 MJ should be ended by the end of 2024.
