Original Abstract

This article introduce to a Source Specific Multicast (SSM) implementation in IP networks and its using to deliver multicast TV to the clients. SSM is implemented to the Department of Telecommunications experimental network based on Cisco IP/TV solution. It summarizes the requirements for network equipments, SSM address allocation, advantages and disadvantages of SSM implementation. The architecture of the experimental network and the components of Cisco IP/TV solution are described.
