Original Abstract
For developing future-generation memories it is promising that the memristors and other memory elements are merely a small subset of Chua’s periodical table of fundamental elements, and that the memristor is therefore only the tip of the iceberg. Each of these elements, most of them still waiting to be "discovered", represents, analogously to the memristor, a permanent natural principle. As a new piece of knowledge, Chua’s table can be also used in non-electric domains via Through-Across analogies. That is why the importance of these elements goes beyond the scope of Electrical Engineering. It can be shown that such elements, the TiO2 memristor being only a physical implementation of one of them, can serve as basic building blocks of the so-called predictive modeling of nonlinear dynamical systems or processes of arbitrary nature.
