Selection of a suitable production medium can affect the presence of lipids in cells of producers and mild temperature stress can induce change in composition of fatty acids too. Raman spectroscopy proved to be a very efficient tool for the rapid quantitative/qualitative analyses of oil produced by yeast. This may take a few minutes compared to conventional instrumentations.
