Original Abstract

Two original numerical models have been developed and used in the investigation of a continuously cast steel slab.The 3D model of temperature field is capable of simulating the temperature field of a caster. The model of dendritic segregation of elements assesses critical points of slabs from the viewpoint of their increased susceptibility to crack and fissures.
