Original Abstract
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) are microbial polyesters accumulated in form of intracellular granules by numerous bacteria primarily as storage compounds. Nevertheless, recent research data indicate that their biological role is more complex and presence of PHA in bacterial cells substantially improves their stress resistance.
