Original Abstract

The relationship between savings and investment spending is explained within this lecture. Students get acquainted with the loanable funds market, which shows how savers are matched with borrowers. Next, the purpose of the four principal types of assets such as stocks, bonds, loans, and bank deposits is being highlighted. Last, the question how financial intermediaries support investors to achieve diversification is being followed.
