Original Abstract

Swirl turbine is a new type of low head propeller turbine for locations at river weirs. Paper presents results of optimization aimed on reducing manufacturing complexity of the siphon turbine draft tube. Shape optimization is based on sensitivity analysis, CFD simulations and inspection of structural stiffness.
