Metodika se zabývá stanovením součinitele tření po provedení laboratorního ohlazování. Tato zkouška je popsána v ČSN EN 12697-49, norma ale neurčuje, jak správně vyhodnotit výsledky. Metodika tedy doplňuje normu o podrobnější zkušební postup a způsob vyhodnocení výsledků. Obsahuje také přepočet součinitele tření po ohlazení na součinitel podélného tření, který je běžně měřen dynamickým meřicím zařízením na vozovce, a také vztah mezi laboratorním ohlazováním a dopravním zatžením. ČSN EN 12697-49 je určena pro zkoušky asfaltových směsí, metodika popisuje specifika a podmínky pro zkoušení vzorků z cementobetonových krytů.

Methodology deals with the determination of the friciton coefficient after polishing. This test is described in EN 12697-49, but the standard does not specify how to properly evaluate the results. Therefore, the detailed test procedure and evaluation of the results is described in the methodology. It also includes the conversion of the friciton coefficient after polishing and coefficient of longitudinal, that is commonly measured by dynamic measuring device on the road, and also the relationship between the laboratory polishing and traffic load. EN 12697-49 is used for testing of asphalt mixtures, the methodology describes the specifics and the conditions for testing of cores from concrete roads.
