Original Abstract

At present, there is a pressure for reducing the costs to maximize profitability in the industry. The area which is most frequently targeted is manpower. If one duty job is eliminated in a chemical process plant that operates 24 hours a day, it can bring a very significant saving. However, one major accident caused by inadequate staffing level or operator’s workload can destroy these savings for many years. The purpose of proposed anal-ysis is to determine the risk level for different numbers of operators in a chemical process plant and to reveal weaknesses in the system which allow the accident to be deployed with current workload and staffing level.
