Original Abstract

The paper deals with the issues of Competitive Intelligence as well as the present understanding of the term as wieved in business medium. Thee author considers the present wiev of CI, mainly stemming out from foreign literature, insufficient. The reasonis in the paradigmatic change in decission making processes of top management and the innovations mostly caused by oncoming globalization. The need of the new concept of CI fitting the demands of top corporate management, is felt mainly in the strategic field. This need should be based on the proper functioning of company departement of CI. The new concept should also be expressed in the new definition of Competitive Intelligence reflecting the new position of CI in present corporate management.
