Original Abstract

Effective machining using the wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) technology is a compromise between cutting speed and surface quality. The typical morphology of an electrical discharge machined surface is characterized by a large amount of craters caused by electro-spark discharges produced during the cutting process. The paper is focused on a statistical evaluation (ANOVA) of the effect of the machine parameters setting on S-parameters characterizing the quality of a workpiece surface. The experiment was made up of 33 variants of machine parameter settings and the material Al 99.5 was used for samples.
