Original Abstract

This contribution presents an overview of studies which compare sizes of personnel departments often use as their index of judgement the relationship between the total staff of the company to those that work in the human resources department. To establish this index, the HR-staff ratio, the number of staff in the human resources department is divided by the total number of staff in the company.
