Original Abstract

Polymer composites are used in electrical and electronic technologies as an insulating material. Examples of such materials are composites based on epoxy resin. An epoxy resin is an organic, macromolecular substance of synthetic origin that is used in a composite as a matrix. Each epoxy composite has specific properties that include volume and surface resistivity, breakdown voltage, real and imaginary part of complex permittivity and others. This study investigates the measurements of dielectric and electric properties of epoxy composite system with silica sand filler. Measurements of electric properties were performed from 238.15 K to 363.15 K. Complex permittivity was measured in the frequency range 20 Hz to 2 MHz at ambient temperature.
